From the day we picked up our precious puppy at your home in Vermont, she has brought pure joy to our home. I had always wanted a golden retriever as I knew of their lively friendly happy nature, but had no idea how smart, loving, and fun. One of our greatest joys is watching her leap into the water...whether it is a stream, pond, ocean or swimming pool. She loves to swim and retrieve the ball, stick, shell, or floating toy. Luci is 8 months old. She is very friendly, full of energy and strikingly pretty. Her puppy golden color has now grown to a reddish brown color. We have been at outdoor-seating restaurants where people will come up to us to ask to pet Luci. We were coming out of a bread store walking to our car when a women stopped her car, got out to pet Luci! The TJ Maxx cashiers, with people in line waiting to be called to an open register, left their registers to enthusiastically greet Luci who was in her “daddy’s” arms. My husband says Luci is “running for mayor” since she never refuses to engage excitedly with anyone who is in her path. Every couple months, we give Niki an update on Luci’s adventures. Niki shares with us the adventures of Luci’s parents, Betty and Oates. We feel the Oney’s breeding, whelping, and time the newborn puppies are kept with their mother and siblings supports their learning the best possible social rules and behavior as they grow into their new families.
